The Mill, and Weir, Knightwick.

Photograph (Many thanks to Major [Retd] Janet Brodie-Murphy) of the Old Mill, Knightsford Bridge. Here we have a different perspective of the Mill and Weir, with the mill wheel difficult to see against the mill wall. Where the weir flows down is a large and deep pool, which turned out be great place for barbel fishing. I expect that in the days before, that the fly fishermen had great sport there, as it would have been a great hole for the Salmon to lie up in, before tackling the weir and moving on upstream to their breeding grounds. Back in the 1800's I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't net the Salmon as I imagine there would have been many of them coming upstream in those days. I saw several over the years I lived at the Post Office and numbers were dropping drastically each year..
