Talbot business card.

A wonderful old card (Many thanks to an old friend, Garston Phillips) Card is displayed showing both inside and outside together.

I had some wonderful times at the Talbot when I was young and remember Ken and Doreen very well. Ken was a very nice man and I was captain of the darts team, while he was landlord (so this card brings back many memory's for me). He mentions on the card three hunting packs and I guess that one of these would have been the Otter, Beagle Hounds. These days we try our hardest to bring back some of the nature that was lost during these times and Otters are one of these.

I used to follow the fox hounds and have happy memories (before we go to far, I do not want to cause arguments about what is right or wrong, I leave that up to the individual who may be reading this) and all I can personally say is, that at that time it was a known way to keep down the fox, which was a known predator of farm geese and chickens etc. No one ever talked about if it was right or wrong to do that in those days.

So many of the hunts would assemble outside the Talbot Hotel where the Master of the Pack would get his tipple of sherry, before the hunt began.
